Few Words by Jackie Sterratt, senior brand manager at Boehringer Ingelheim.

“We’re excited to add to the proven NexGard portfolio and help vets treat more cats,”

Jackie Sterratt

We know that only one in every two cats is flea-treated and cats are only wormed three times per year on average, despite the fact that all cats are at risk of fleas and most cats require monthly round worming treatment, thus there is a significant opportunity to boost treatment rates and compliance. NexGard COMBO, the only treatment on the market that treats fleas, ticks, ear mites, roundworms, and tapeworms, provides a straightforward solution for cats at risk of several parasites.

Boehringer Ingelheim has designed an eye-catching and informative NexGard COMBO marketing package to accompany the launch of NexGard COMBO, which comprises a kitten support pack, client literature, dispensing envelope, and parasite risk checker.

Nexgard Combo for Cats FAQ’s

How NexGard Combo Can be Used?

The treatment is available as a spot-on solution in two different volume applicators. The volume is determined by the cat’s bodyweight. The applicator’s contents are applied to the cat’s skin in a single location in the center of the neck where the cat cannot lick it away. Repeated treatments should be limited to specific individuals, with a minimum treatment interval of four weeks.

See the package booklet or contact your veterinarian or pharmacist for further information on using NexGard Combo.

How Does NexGard Combo Function?

NexGard Combo’s active ingredients attack external and internal parasites in distinct ways.

Esafoxolaner is an ectoparasiticide, which means it eliminates external parasites that live on or in the cat’s skin, fur, or ear. It disrupts the way messages travel between the parasite’s nerve cells (neurotransmission), resulting in uncontrolled nervous system activity and death. Fleas and ticks are destroyed within 24 and 48 hours, respectively, after treatment. Esafoxolaner eliminates fleas before they lay eggs, preventing household infection.

Endoparasiticides like praziquantel and eprinomectin eliminate parasites that dwell inside the cat’s body. Praziquantel destroys the cell membranes of tapeworms, causing the parasite to die. Eprinomectin interacts with the nerve and muscle cells of roundworms, causing paralysis and death.

What Research Has Shown About the Benefits of NexGard Combo?

NexGard Combo’s efficacy was studied in both laboratory and practical experiments. It states that NexGard Combo value its efficacy in the treatment of cats with (or at risk of) combined infections with ectoparasites, nematodes, and cestodes. The product is also useful as part of a treatment method for flea allergic dermatitis.
Conclusion

The parasites targeted by broad-spectrum endectoparasiticides (fleas, ticks, mites, gastrointestinal nematodes, cestodes, heartworms, and lungworms) are common in cats and can coexist as concurrent infestations (ecto and endoparasitism). As a result, veterinarians and cat parents are interested in providing a treatment with the product that combines such treatment claims.
